Rest & Release
A Space to Put It Down
Stress that does not move through the body stays in it. It builds. It accumulates. It becomes the baseline — the tension you carry so long you forget it is there. Rest and Release exists because the body needs regular recovery, not just when it reaches the breaking point. And because that recovery is more possible, more real when it happens in community.
This space was created with the experiences and needs of Black and Brown women in mind. To exhale, move stress out of the body, and build the kind of internal capacity that does not come from pushing harder. We use breath, body-centered stillness, and gentle movement to help the nervous system complete what stress leaves unfinished. Always an opening to arrive and notice what you brought with you, what you are carrying today, what your body needs from this time together.
What We Do Together
Arrive and Reflect We open with an invitation a question or an observation to help you notice where you actually are. What you brought into the space. What the body is holding. What you need from this time. You can write it down, sit with it, or simply let it land.
Breath and Stillness The body knows how to regulate. Breath is how we access it. We slow down, exhale, and create the conditions for the nervous system to shift out of survival mode, not through force, but through practice.
Gentle Movement and Release Stress lives in the body and it needs somewhere to go. Gentle, body-led movement helps complete the stress cycle, moving what has been stuck, releasing what the body has been holding without an outlet.
Community Presence Healing does not happen in isolation. There is something that happens in a room of women who understand what you carry, who do not need you to explain the weight. That presence is part of the practice.
